Mandy and Me Part 2

This weekend I played another tournament with Mandy Houtz. The tournament was a four person scramble. Joining us were two friends of mine Jim and Chad. Both are very good golfers. We were competing with several teams of great golfers. It was a proverbial clash of the titans. The tournament was played at my favorite golf course Quarry Oaks. This tournament was a fundraiser for the Waverly school district. As a result each team was able to buy mulligans. If you play in a scramble I would strongly recommend buying mulligans if available. Even with players like Jim and Chad who are both capable of very long drives Mandy dominated on virtually every hole. We birdied 2 par fives and eagled the other. We finished the tournament 18 under. We had only one par all day long. The tournament was a lot of fun. I think next year will add at least one more female golfer to our team. I really enjoy playing with Mandy.

The Grass is a Little Greener

Omaha is coming out of a couple of tough winter months. The snow is melting and the grass beneath is green. I cannot wait to get outside and play golf. This weekend marks my first tournament of the year. The St. Patricks day two person tournament at Pacific Springs golf course. This year my team will consist of myself and The Red Tee Box's best golfer, Mandy. She will be the only female playing in the tournament. Her only handicap is that she is playing with me. The front nine drives me crazy and has been a headache for me. There is a ravine that crisscrosses throughout the first five holes. For some reason I like to hit into it. The back nine however is a links style layout and a ton of fun to play.
