Mandy and Me

This Saturday I played a golf tournament with my good friend Mandy Houtz. The tournament was at Pacific Springs Golf Course. This was a two person scramble tournament. We were one of two mixed teams in the tournament. Mandy's awesome drives from the red tees and my dead on putting proved to be a great combination. We struggled with finding the green on our 2nd shot. I was amazed at the advantage of having a female golfer who can really drive the ball well off the red tees. We rarely had an approach shot beyond 80 yards. It just goes to show how important every shot in golf is. We finished the round two under. We ranked in the championship flight but did not win. If you have never played in a golf scramble I highly recommend it. It is so much fun.

The Grass is a Little Greener

Omaha is coming out of a couple of tough winter months. The snow is melting and the grass beneath is green. I cannot wait to get outside and play golf. This weekend marks my first tournament of the year. The St. Patricks day two person tournament at Pacific Springs golf course. This year my team will consist of myself and The Red Tee Box's best golfer, Mandy. She will be the only female playing in the tournament. Her only handicap is that she is playing with me. The front nine drives me crazy and has been a headache for me. There is a ravine that crisscrosses throughout the first five holes. For some reason I like to hit into it. The back nine however is a links style layout and a ton of fun to play.
